Microsoft and law enforcement hit Chinese-language phishing network

Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit and international partners have disrupted a criminal ecosystem dedicated to large-scale phishing.

Microsoft has identified a Chinese-language cybercriminal ecosystem. It is an interconnected network formed by operators of phishing kits, tracked under the name Storm-2990, and an illicit marketplace, identified as Storm-3119, specializing in the sale of tools and infrastructure useful for conducting large-scale phishing attacks.

In response to this threat, Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) collaborated directly with law enforcement and various partners globally. Thanks to this joint operation, it was possible to facilitate the disruption of the entire criminal ecosystem's activities.
